DromEd Deluxe Released!
- 11:24:42 PM - Darkwarrior
It's been news for a while now, but no one informed me. (And I failed to go the Editor's Guild for the past week, but that's beside the point)

You can grab it here, and read up on it here.

If the download is going slow, let me know and I'll upload it to another server to relieve this one (although it should be fine). Congratulations to everyone on the DEDX team, especially Rob Hicks! It's been a huge success.

Keeper of the Prophesies Update
- 7:22:25 AM - Elenkis
Frobber (Ken Ramsley) has released updated versions of both Hallucinations and Insurrection, the first two missions in his popular Keeper of the Prophesies series. I don't have a list of fixes but if you had any problems playing either mission before then this is a good time to give them another try.

The new versions also coincide with the release of a single download combining both missions into a campaign structure. Both the seperate updated missions along with the combined version have been added to our database.

Enjoy!

Fanfic: Excerpt from Keeper Records
- 9:00:06 PM - Elenkis
Yametha has finished part two of her recently added fanfic, An Excerpt from Keeper Records. Here's a peek at the new part:
I went back round the front, and the guard at the door asked me if he could help me. I told him I was looking for one of Lord Brosius’s servants, and he said he hadn’t seen her. I sat down on the steps for a few minutes to give the impression that I was waiting, but after she didn’t show up, (not surprisingly, she was never coming) I entered the library. I looked around for a bit, and looked up herbal ingredients for cooking with.

One of the guards (seemed more like armed servants to me) showed me the way, and then left me alone. I attached a sweel-hair to the catch of a nearby window and fed it under the sill, so the window would open from the outside. After some smiling at the guards, I left, and returned to a nearby hotel room. It was a rundown dump, but it had to do. I changed into proper keeper garments, and then I sketched some things with a quill until it got too dark to see. I then slipped out of the window and vanished into the night.

Thanks Yametha!

Fanfic Update: Duty Calls
- 7:38:50 AM - Elenkis
Rich Belcher has sent us a new version of his short novel in development, Duty Calls. This new version contains a new chapter as well as rewrites to previous chapters. Here's a snip:
Figuring the Pagan wasn’t wasting my time with his forward question, “Umm… one Air, four Water, and two Earth Crystals.” A well-placed gas arrow should take out two of the three guards watching the painting. Depending on the final guard’s position I’ll either use my blackjack or a broadhead. Not many Water and Earth Crystals were needed since there is a surplus in my closet. Although light stepping can be more cost effective than buying Earth Crystals, Gloria did inform me of Durant’s obsession with marble.

Opening a vine-infested crate, the Pagan carried seven crystalline items over to the water column. Tossing four into the top of the column, a short prayer was muttered under his breath. Within moments, four Water Crystals emerged from the base. The process was repeated for the Air and Earth Crystals at their respective columns.

Handing the Crystals over, he displayed his decaying teeth in a gruesome grin, “This be nine hundred and fifty goodsies. Buysies anything else?”

Shaking off the utter surprise from the Pagan’s crystal creation, I palmed him the money. “Yes…uhh…a slow-fall potion.”

Thanks Rich!

DromEd Deluxe 1.0 Is On the Way!
- 10:01:54 PM - Darkwarrior
DromEditors rejoice: DEDX is finally coming! Rob Hicks has announced that the CD containing DEDX has been put in the mail to Antonio Salazar, the main webmaster of The Old Quarter, a Thief-editing website. If it's not up on the Circle by then, you'll definitely be able to grab it off of TOQ, which is on my server.

DEDX is a new set of AI skins, models, sounds, textures and objects that will greatly improve the variety of FMs available to Thief fans. DEDX also makes it easier for DromEditors to create missions by adding a new custom gamesys file and base mission. The latter already has all the data built into it for the editor to start brushing, so no time is wasted on blue rooms and starting points.

To learn more about DEDX, visit the official website here.

Congratulations to Rob Hicks and everyone else who has contributed to DEDX! It should be well worth the wait.

Poem: Thief the Dark Project
- 2:32:45 AM - Elenkis
This one is another epic! D. Leer (aka theBlackman) has written a new limerick, named simply Thief the Dark Project. It's a big one, so quoting a small part doesn't do it justice. But here's a peek:
So Garrett went down in Bonehoard,
Where Quintus' horn had been stored,
He found it up high,
And I'll not deny,
He found Burricks and Zombies galore.

Ramirez desired Garrett dead.
And offered a price for his head.
He sent killers two,
An assignment they blew,
And Ramirez paid Garrett instead.

Said Constantine, "Come work for me,
I'll pay you a fabulous fee."
So Garrett said swell,
And did the job well,
Not knowing what soon was to be.

Thanks theBlackman!

Artwork from John Castiello
- 2:01:27 AM - Elenkis
John Castiello has sent us his excellent new drawing named "The Eye". Touch up work was done by Todd Schneider, so thanks to the both of them! Nice work, John!

Fanfic: Excerpt from Keeper Records
- 9:26:20 PM - Elenkis
An Excerpt from Keeper Records is a new piece of fan fiction written by Yametha, which as the name suggests is written in the style of some Keeper records :)

Here's a peek:

The book describes how the Woodsie lord was able to create his army of beasts with the speed he did in the maw of chaos (as observed by Keeper Deka - see record 4861). This book was classified restricted by the High Priest (Axanta Markander - see record 4695) and the discovery was deemed too dangerous to be put into practice. Further research on the topic was forbidden due to insufficient safety precautions and the possible misuse of it once research was completed.

Seven months later, reports came in concerning a renegade Hammerite by the name of Karras (see record 4899). Investigation revealed that Karras had learned of the book and sought the power contained within. At the time Karras was seeking to found his own subgroup of the Hammerite order known as the Mechanist Subsection. Karras has tried twice to obtain the book, and thus far, he has failed. A suggestion was made to the council recommending that we intervene and keep the book from ever falling into the hands of Karras.

Thanks Yametha!
