3 New FMs
- 9:27:47 AM - Jenesis
It's good to see that, despite the release of the Thief 3 Editor, FM authors are continuing to work on their missions-in-progress in DromEd. Some newly-finished missions are thus presented for your old-school enjoyment.

First is "All Torc" by R Soul (Robin Collier), which is actually three missions in one. Note that this makes for a large download (19.7MB).
Next, "Homo Arbor" by rosa. This is the sequel to "Friend Basso", and supports English and German. It too is quite a large file, at 12.9MB.
Finally, "The Clean Out" by Dark Gentleman brings Garrett into a confrontation with the Hammerites.

 Released: 2/26/2005

By: R Soul (Robin Collier)

Additional Comments: Requires the custom scripts by GayleSaver and Telliamed. See the readme for details.

By: rosa

Plot Description: I've been hiding in the mountains with Carla and Louis for much too long. Jenivere's death and Basso's kidnapping really threw me off balance but now I've heard that Basso might be on the estate of Lord de Winter. This evening the Lord is expecting some important people from the city...I should use this disturbance to find out where Basso is and to get him out of there.

Additional Comments: Sequel to "Friend Basso"
English and German supported.

Thief 2 Fan Mission
Clean Out, The

 Filesize: 4.33 MB
 Released: 2/26/2005
 readme.rtf

By: Dark Gentleman

Plot Description: Yesterday a particularly aggressive group of Hammerites from a nearby church you were going to explore and raid attacked you by surprise. You managed to escape, but noticed afterwards that your blackjack was missing. Give those Hammerites a lesson they'll remember for the rest of their lives. Or, actually, just do what you were going to do anyway.
You need no excuses.

In other news, Jason Otto's "A Debt Repaid" now supports English, French, German, and Italian.

Thief 2 Fan Mission
Debt Repaid, A (v3.1)

 Filesize: 15.3 MB
 Released: 10/18/2004
 readme.rtf

By: Ottoj55 (Jason Otto)

Plot Description: A few years ago Garrett broke me out of Cragscleft Prison, a couple years after that he helped me break Jenivere out of a rich noble's manor. Tonight Garrett is the one in need of a rescue. A job he was on didn't go to well and now the City Watch has him locked up. An average housebreaker would get a long stay in their dungeons for this, if they figure out that this is Garrett they'll execute him for sure. (more)

Additional Comments: English, French, German, and Italian supported.

Many thanks to all of you for your missions.

Deadly Shadows Editor News
- 8:51:24 PM - GBM
Well.

Seems the wait is over, and the editing tools for Thief 3 are finally available (320M download, give or take). Check out our newly-added Thief III Editors' Guild forum for information, download links, and some basic tutorial stuff to get you started.

I'm guessing that probably piqued your interest...

Two New FMs
- 7:25:01 PM - Jenesis
Two FMs for your light-fingered enjoyment. First, Gaëtane has Garrett stealing ancient statuettes from a nobleman's estate in "Happy New Year Mister Lambert!". This mission supports both English and French.

The second mission is "Children of the Future" by Mr. Tunnel. This is quite a large mission (16.5MB), beginning with a chance discovery of a garden down an alleyway. You may wish to note that some of the readables in this mission contain some adult content.

Plot Description: Some time ago, four ancient statuettes mysteriously disappeared from a museum. Today, Garrett learned from one of his well informed contacts that these statuettes have suddenly reappeared in the hands of a rich lord in the area, Sir Lambert. On the first day of January, Sir Lambert traditionally hosts a midnight supper in his manor for his high society friends. (more)

Additional Comments: English and French supported.

Plot Description: I have came to Freetown for holiday. It was a fool choice though. Freetown is a bustlin'-n'-large third world city with a seashore, and it is full of tourists. I have spend my days with pickpocketin' and drinkin', but tonight I just wanted to walk and smell the hot and nasty summer atmosphere of the city. I have been walkin', I've seen two kind of people- very rich or really poor. It's a city like this. As I've walked into an alley, I've discovered a garden and a gate at the end of it. I think I can take a look at the place, so let's go!

Additional Comments: Some adult content in the readables.

Many thanks to both of you for your efforts :)

Ion Storm Shuts Down
- 2:09:00 PM - Dave

It has been rumoured for a while now, but today it was confirmed that Ion Storm have been shut down by Eidos.

In a statement Eidos said

This is part of the company's move to consolidate and strengthen its technical and management capabilities into a smaller number of studios which are capable of scaling up in order to meet the competitive challenges that lie ahead, particularly in anticipation of next generation technologies and platforms."

It's a shame, Thief: Deadly Shadows was a great game and rumours about their next game sounded really cool.
