Mantis:

The Mantis is a legendary race of "bugmen" that supposedly served the trickster in the ancient days of magic and myth. They are described as resembling a large, upright bug. The texts further state that the mantis is deadly, attacking either with a massive cloud of insects from its mouth, or slicing opponents with its razor-sharp forelimbs.

The few accounts of Mantis encounters date back several centuries, leading us to believe the race is now extinct. However, recent rumors of "bug creatures" in the forests outside the City have caused us to wonder if this is indeed true.

All sources seem to indicate that bugmen fall to the normal array of weapons that a human would, inluding the blackjack and arrows. However, the bugmen are noted for making a high-pitched squealing noise when startled, even if knocked unconscious or killed.
